Country house for celebrations near Seville: birthdays, hen and stag parties, family reunions and Christmas dinners for up to 30 people

Cortijo Los Tomillares is in Guadalcanal, in the heart of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park, 1 h 15 min from Seville. We rent it as a whole to groups of 10 to 30 people, and most of them come to celebrate something: milestone birthdays, hen and stag parties, family reunions, anniversaries, get-togethers with old classmates or a Christmas dinner with friends or work colleagues.

The point is that it isn't just a meal and then everyone goes home: you arrive on Friday (or Thursday, at no extra cost), celebrate without watching the clock and all stay the night together. No neighbours, no closing time and nobody else but you on 250 hectares.

Birthdays and anniversaries

Turning 40 or 50, your parents' silver wedding anniversary… For a family celebration the cortijo works because everyone fits: grandparents in the en-suite rooms, couples in the double bedrooms and the children in the loft, where about 12 can sleep. While the grown-ups get the meal ready, the little ones have the farm, the trampoline, the playground and, in season, the pool.

Hen and stag parties

A private estate in the middle of the sierra is the best place for a hen or stag party: nobody hears you and nobody bothers you. Barbecue and pool by day, billiards, darts and the fire by night, and the next day nobody has to drive. In the area there's horse riding, mountain biking, climbing at Cerro del Hierro and kayaking; we'll give you the instructors' contacts and you book directly.

Family and friends reunions

Cousins who haven't been together for years, your school friends, your university classmates… A weekend at the cortijo gives you time for what a single meal can't: long after-lunch chats, walks in the countryside and star-filled nights in one of Spain's Starlight reserves.

Christmas lunch or dinner with friends or colleagues

In December the cortijo feels different: the fire lit, the wood-fired oven going and the living room with billiards for a Christmas dinner with friends or your work team, and then off to bed without worrying about driving back to Seville in the small hours. Food, at home

The cortijo is not an events venue: there's no catering or staff of our own. What there is is a kitchen equipped for 30 with a wood-fired oven, stone barbecue, griddle and paella pan. If you'd rather not cook, we'll put you in touch with a local cook who cooks at the house or with catering companies in the area (booked separately). The Guadalcanal supermarket can leave your shopping in the kitchen before you arrive.

Can we hold a hen or stag party?
Yes. It's a private 250-hectare estate with no neighbours, so you can celebrate without disturbing anyone. We only ask you to look after the house as if it were your own.
How many people can stay?
Up to 30 sleeping: 9 double bedrooms (2 of them en-suite) and a loft with room for about 12 children. There are 4 full bathrooms. The whole cortijo is always rented to a single group, so you have it to yourselves.
Can extra guests come just for lunch or dinner?
Yes, they can, but please check with us first how many guests you'll be in total. The cortijo is not a wedding or events venue: for large celebrations with a marquee, catering and staff, ask us beforehand.
What about food? Do you offer catering?
The cortijo has no catering or staff of its own, but there's a kitchen equipped for 30 with a wood-fired oven, stone barbecue, griddle and paella pan. If you'd rather not cook, we'll put you in touch with a local cook who cooks at the house or with catering companies in the area (booked separately), and the Guadalcanal supermarket can leave your shopping in the kitchen before you arrive.

How much does it cost?
The price is for the whole cortijo, not per person: a weekend costs €1,900 all year round except summer and long weekends, with check-in and check-out whenever you like and, outside summer and bank holidays, Thursday night free. How do we book?
Write to us on WhatsApp or through the form with your dates and number of people. A 50% deposit by bank transfer confirms the booking and the rest is paid on arrival. Sheets, towels, firewood and WiFi are included.
